An engineer risen from the fleet's repair crews — whatever breaks, Terra mends by hand. Standing shield to shield with the silent Pebble, Terra proves that the power to protect and repair runs deeper than the power to destroy.
The grease never quite leaves Terra's hands. A pilot doubling as a mechanic is against regulations, but nobody stops her — the fleet has a superstition that a craft Terra has fixed never falls. She says it isn't superstition: 'I don't repair what's broken. I listen for it before it breaks.'
