When those wings spread, the scattered wingmates' cores resonate, and no wall of fire can break the formation. What Seraph guards is not the barrier, but everything left beneath it.
Seraph's wings are no ornament — they are real, forged from shards of the barrier's core. On the day the barrier first tore, she was the only pilot to return alive from the epicenter, the core clutched to her chest. People called what they saw an angel. Seraph has never liked the name.
